About Me:

My name is Jennifer MacArthur and I am a Maine native from about an hour south in the town of Waterville. I am studying Secondary Education with an English concentration. If you can’t find me in the writing center, or in the library, you may find me at a recital in Minsky hall or watching the marching band rehearse. I’ll never forget the opportunities music and expressing myself creatively has opened up for me.

I have a passion for creative writing, particularly, poetry. My favorite anthology is In the Laurels, Caught by Lee Ann Brown. This anthology is my favorite because it provides notes of thought in the handwriting of the poet around the poems that she’d written. I believe it is important to read works like this to understand that it’s all in the thought process and various drafts it takes to get to the final piece of work. Unorganized thought is just work that isn’t polished yet.

I look forward to working with people from all walks of life on developing themselves in any way they may choose as writers.

a poem can be descriptive medicine"
